Noida, February 21, 2026: In a major push for regional connectivity, the Uttar Pradesh government has released ₹1,204 crore for land acquisition for a 74.3km access-controlled greenfield expressway that will connect the Ganga Expressway with the Yamuna Expressway.

Project Overview

The corridor is expected to significantly improve transportation networks in western UP by offering a new high-speed route that will decongest key industrial stretches. The expressway will create a direct road link to the upcoming Noida International Airport in Jewar, enhancing accessibility for travelers from multiple districts.

Funding and Approvals

The money was sanctioned with the governor's approval and released by the infrastructure and industrial development department following a proposal from the UP Expressways Industrial Development Authority (UPEIDA). The funds were approved in the 2025-26 financial year specifically for land acquisition within the jurisdiction of the Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA).

Land Acquisition Details

The approval formalizes the acquisition process YEIDA announced last year:

  • Total Land to be Acquired: Approximately 740 acres

  • Villages Covered: 56 villages across two districts

    • 16 villages in Gautam Budh Nagar (under YEIDA jurisdiction)

    • 40 villages in Bulandshahr district (Khurja, Bulandshahr, Syana and Shikarpur tehsils)

  • Estimated Cost: Previously pegged at around ₹1,200 crore, now formalized at ₹1,204 crore

Alignment and Route

Officials confirmed the alignment has been finalized. The expressway will:

  • Start at the 44.3km point on Ganga Expressway near Syana

  • Merge with Yamuna Expressway at the 24.8km point near YEIDA Sector 21

  • Have approximately 20km of corridor falling in YEIDA's area, including a nearly 9km elevated section

Plans for the corridor include:

  • 24-metre-wide service road in Yamuna City

  • Two road overbridges

  • Multiple underpasses

Execution and Timeline

UPEIDA will serve as the nodal executing agency for the project. The process will unfold as follows:

  1. YEIDA completes land acquisition in its notified area

  2. Bulandshahr administration finishes acquisition proceedings on its side

  3. Land handed over to UPEIDA for detailed design, tendering and construction

  4. UPEIDA to integrate the link with existing expressway network

The overall project cost is estimated at approximately ₹4,000 crore.
