New Delhi, May 2, 2026: Noida International Airport (Jewar Airport) is set to begin commercial flight operations from June 15, 2026, marking a major milestone in India’s aviation and infrastructure sector.

First Flight and Airlines

• IndiGo will operate the first commercial flight
• Akasa Air and Air India Express are expected to start operations soon after

Regulatory Clearance in Place

Operations will commence following approval of the Aerodrome Security Programme (ASP) by the Bureau of Civil Aviation Security (BCAS), ensuring readiness for commercial services.

Initial Capacity and Infrastructure

• Airport currently has one runway and terminal
• Initial capacity: 1.2 crore passengers annually

Massive Expansion Planned

Under its long-term master plan:

• Capacity will expand to over 7 crore passengers per year
• The airport is expected to become a major aviation hub in North India

Developer and Vision

The airport is being developed by Yamuna International Airport Pvt Ltd (YIAPL) and is part of a larger plan to:

• Decongest Delhi’s IGI Airport
