Prayagraj Development Authority to Launch Four New Housing Schemes Across 1,600 Hectares with ₹1,641 Crore Investment

Prayagraj, March 19, 2026: The Prayagraj Development Authority will develop four residential schemes across more than 1,600 hectares of land. Approximately ₹1,641 crore will be spent on these residential schemes. Land has already been identified in Prayagraj Sadar, Phulpur Karchhana, and Bara tehsil areas for this purpose .

Proposed Residential Schemes

These proposed residential schemes will be developed in the revenue village of Kathula Gauspur in Sadar tehsil, Garapur in Phulpur, Chaukhta in Karchhana, and the Iradatganj area in Bara. Land will be acquired from farmers in about 18 villages. The Aero City project towards the airport and the residential scheme in Iradatganj will be developed first .

Housing and Plots for Residents

PDA Secretary Ajit Singh stated that with the launch of residential schemes at these four locations, a large number of people dreaming of their own homes will be able to get housing and plots. Residential and commercial plots will be sold in these schemes .

Multi-Storey Buildings Now Permitted

In Civil Lines, Tagore Town, George Town, and other prominent areas, buildings exceeding eight meters in height can now be constructed in the coming days. Previously, building permits were only allowed up to 7.50 meters in height. This proposal has been passed in the PDA board meeting and will soon be sent to the government for approval. Additionally, maps for plots within the 200 square meter range will also be approved .

PDA Secretary explained that during the expansion of urban limits and approval of Master Plan-2031, this aspect was not considered, due to which maps and building construction in this area continued according to old rules. After government approval of this proposal, buildings higher than eight meters can be constructed. Previously, due to the lack of facility to approve maps for 200 square meter plots, a large number of people resorted to illegal construction. This change will provide convenience to building owners while also increasing PDA's revenue. After approval, buildings exceeding 15 floors can also be constructed .
