Background
Land belonging to farmers from Shivangaon was acquired for the Mihan project. Several decisions were taken as compensation, including the provision of 12.5% developed land to project-affected farmers. This decision was announced by then chief minister Ashok Chavan in the State Legislature following protests by farmers, and a Government Resolution (GR) was subsequently issued.
