New Delhi, April 21: The BJP MP said property cards will be issued to the landowners in these villages that will help them get bank loans.

What is 'Lal Dora' Land?

'Lal Dora' land in Delhi refers to village habitation areas (Abadi) which lack formal registration.

SVAMITVA Scheme Implementation

The Panchayati Raj ministry clarified that although Delhi does not have a gram panchayat system, the SVAMITVA Scheme has nonetheless been implemented in the capital with special permission from the minister.

  • An MoU has been signed between the Delhi government and the Survey of India

  • 31 villages in Delhi identified for inclusion in the scheme

  • Drone-based mapping of these villages has already been completed

  • Maps have been handed over to officials concerned

Current Status

The Delhi government is currently formulating the necessary regulations. Property cards are expected to be allotted to residents very soon.

Benefits

Once property cards are issued, residents will not face any difficulties in applying for bank loans.

MP's Statement

Bidhuri said that in the name of Delhi's development, land of villagers was acquired by the government for meagre compensation. Successive Congress governments at the Centre failed to regularise 'Lal Dora' land, causing leading banks to refuse bank loans against such properties.
