Telangana HC Pulls Up HYDRAA Again Over Hayathnagar Plot Seizure, Seeks Response by March 25

Hyderabad, March 24: The Telangana High Court has once again criticized the Hyderabad Disaster Response and Asset Protection Agency (HYDRAA) for allegedly taking over a 650 square yard plot in Sahebnagar Kalan, Hayathnagar, calling the action "unconstitutional."
Justice NV Shravan Kumar expressed shock while hearing a petition filed by the landowner, noting that interfering in property disputes that are already sub judice cannot be termed good governance. The court observed that despite passing several orders in similar matters previously, there has been no change in HYDRAA's attitude.
The agency reportedly took over the property over alleged encroachment into a park. The petitioner urged the court to impose a fine on HYDRAA to serve as a deterrent against abuse of state power.
"You think your acts would not be checked? Apparently it looks like that," the judge remarked while addressing HYDRAA's counsel. The court questioned why the agency visited the disputed site on its own when the matter was already under judicial consideration.
The judge directed HYDRAA not to take any further action without consulting the principal secretary of the municipal administration and urban development department, stating that all actions would be subject to court scrutiny.
The court has posted the matter for further hearing on March 25, seeking HYDRAA's response.
