Pune, April 18: This safety regulation ensures that nearby development does not compromise the structural integrity of the transit system.

Why the Directive?

The administration issued a fresh appeal following a recent incident of excavation near the Metro tunnel in the Mandai area causing damages to the tunnel structure. A police case was filed by the Metro administration.

Works Requiring NOC

  • Construction

  • Demolition

  • Redevelopment

  • All types of digging (including borewell drilling)

  • Excavation

  • Plinth work

  • Any activity requiring digging

Who Must Comply?

  • Builders and property owners

  • Government agencies involved in digging, laying of cables and utilities, excavations, and laying of any infrastructure near Metro tunnels or viaducts

Consequences of Non-Compliance

  • Legal action

  • Financial liability

Application Process

Applications for obtaining the NOC shall be submitted to the planning department through the authority concerned. More details are available on the Pune Metro rail website.
