Township to be Built Near Mainpuri: 285-Acre Housing Development Project in Pipeline with Modern Amenities

Mainpuri, May 9: The administration is working on a new housing development project - Awas Vikas Yojana-2 - near the Singhpur canal bridge in the urban area. The project is being expanded to approximately 285 acres. A new residential area for local residents may soon become a reality.
Project Status
On the initiative of the Tourism and Culture Minister, housing development officials have completed a site inspection. The proposed township is being explored in the Sadar tehsil area near the Singhpur canal bridge. Around 285 acres of land in village Audenya Padariya is being prepared for this township.
The Agra team of the Housing Development Parishad has conducted a physical inspection of the land. Final touches have been given in discussions between Tourism and Culture Minister Jayveer Singh and housing development officials. The proposal has been approved from Agra and sent to the government.
Expected Timeline
If everything goes as planned, the project could be launched on the ground by the end of this year. The project aims to provide relief to local residents, as currently there is no land available in the older Awas Vikas colony located in the city center. Any available plots there command prices in crores.
Southern Bypass to Boost Development
A 20 km long southern bypass is already under construction to relieve the city from traffic congestion. This bypass will not only provide relief from jams but also open new doors for city expansion and employment. It will also improve connectivity to Agra and Etawah.
If the Awas Vikas Yojana-2 is launched along this bypass, settlement in the area will accelerate rapidly, effectively creating a new city in the 20 km zone.
Official Statement
Tourism and Culture Minister Thakur Jayveer Singh said, "A residential project is to be developed around Singhpur canal bridge. The expansion of this approximately 285-acre project will lead to city development. Local residents will get housing facilities."
