Lucknow: LDA's Four Residential Schemes to be Redeveloped, High-Tech Apartments to Replace Dilapidated Buildings

Lucknow, April 14: These colonies currently have G+3 structures with limited facilities. They will be replaced with state-of-the-art high-rise buildings.

Policy Framework

The government recently implemented the Uttar Pradesh Urban Redevelopment Policy 2026 , which emphasizes development and upgrading of facilities through redevelopment in urban areas.

LDA's Directive

LDA Vice Chairman Prathamesh Kumar has issued orders directing officials to prepare detailed proposals.

Wazir Hasan Road Scheme

  • Year of construction: 1988

  • Structure: G+3 (4 towers)

  • Total flats: 64

  • Registered flats: 60

  • Pending registration: 3 (from allottees' end)

  • Unallotted: 1 flat

Kanpur Road Scheme (Sector-G)

  • Year of construction: 1990

  • Structure: 1,000 double-storey buildings

  • Current status: Most buildings occupied unauthorisedly

Paper Mill Colony

  • A survey and inspection of old buildings will be conducted before preparing the redevelopment proposal

Issues to be Addressed

  • Building conditions have deteriorated over four decades

  • Planned parks and parking areas are encroached

  • Many flats have unauthorised occupants instead of original allottees

  • The scheme is located in a prime location

Benefits

Under the redevelopment policy, construction of multi-storey apartments will provide better residential facilities to residents. Original allottees will be accommodated in the redeveloped buildings.
