Greater Noida, April 14: Previously, the complaint process was complicated due to the unavailability of information on RERA's website for unregistered projects.

New Process

Under the new system, buyers of unregistered projects must provide additional information about the builder and project when filing a complaint, including:

  • Builder's contact details

  • Partnership details in the project

  • Project location

  • Land details

  • Building map

  • Construction status

  • Sales status

Penalties for Non-Compliance

RERA Chairman Sanjay Bhoosreddy informed that builders who fail to comply with orders can face:

  • Penalty: Up to 10% of the project's estimated cost

  • Additional fine for violation of orders

  • Imprisonment: Up to 3 years

Warning to Defaulting Builders

RERA officials have warned builders who violate buyers' rights by hiding behind unregistered projects. Builders must fulfill their responsibilities towards buyers.
