Hyderabad, April 25: The meeting took place at the department's Nanakramguda headquarters and was attended by members of CREDAI and NAREDCO.

Proposed Amendments

  • Extend fire department regulation to buildings below 15 metres (most fire accidents occur in smaller, often crowded structures)

  • Update regulations to match modern urban infrastructure risks

  • Enhance safety standards and increase enforcement power

  • Simplify compliance procedures

  • Improve issuance of No Objection Certificates (NOCs)

Fire Director General Vikram Singh Mann shared the draft amendments with stakeholders and outlined the rationale behind each proposal. The revisions are intended to address emerging challenges in infrastructure growth while enhancing overall fire and life safety standards across the state.
