The Haryana government has made significant amendments to the Affordable Housing Policy-2013, fixing new rates and parking standards for Gurugram and other cities. The Town and Country Planning Department has issued an official notification.

Gurugram, April 9: The amendments will impact both homebuyers and builders.

Key Changes

Mandatory Parking

  • One compulsory parking per flat (approximately 10% of flat cost as charge)

  • Additional parking spaces can be used as visitor parking or two-wheeler parking

  • All parking slots must be clearly marked at the time of building plan approval

For Projects with Existing Approvals

  • If licenses and maps are already approved but parking provision is missing, builders must obtain consent from at least two-thirds of allottees for changes

  • Not applicable for projects that have already received Occupancy Certificate (OC)

Balcony Charges

  • If flat has balcony with projection up to 5 ft: ₹1,300 per sq ft additional charge

  • Maximum additional charge per flat: ₹1.30 lakh

Provision for Applicants

  • For schemes where applications have already been invited, additional amount will be charged as per new rates

  • If an applicant does not wish to participate in the draw at new rates, their deposit will be refunded without deduction
